Patients with Parkinson’s disease whose symptoms can’t be controlled with medication may be a candidates for a surgical procedure known as Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS).
Neurosurgeon Dr. Patrick Senatus is the medical director of DBS clinic at Hartford HealthCare’s Ayer Neuroscience Institute. He discusses the procedure, and takes on a couple of additional topics: How social media affects the brain and whether consciousness can be transferred from one person to another — at least in theory.
ESPN 97.9’s Rob Dibble and Ben Darnell host this fascinating podcast.
