Hartford HealthCare (HHC) is proud to announce the signing of an agreement with Trinity College to provide all of their students access to the high-quality, comprehensive health care services that are available throughout the HHC system. The partnership between the two institutions will help manage a higher volume of health care needs and allow all students increased access to specialized referrals, including orthopedic care at the HHC Bone & Joint Institute, located near Trinity on the Hartford Hospital campus – in a state-of-the-art orthopedic hospital and medical building unlike any other in the Northeast.
“This unparalleled collaboration will extend the vast array of clinical services and expertise of Hartford HealthCare’s top-flight clinicians to Trinity College students; affording them access to high-quality, world-class health care,” said Jeffrey A. Flaks, President and Chief Operating Officer, Hartford HealthCare.
HHC’s Bone & Joint Institute includes the Center for The Center for Musculoskeletal Health, where Trinity’s student athletes will be able to see a multidisciplinary team that includes orthopedic surgeons, Sports Medicine physicians, concussion specialists, athlete’s heart specialists and other sports-health experts. Student athletes will also have access to sports neurology through HHC’s Ayer Neuroscience Institute.
Physicians from The Bone and Joint Institute will also take care of student athletes on the Trinity campus, both on the field and in the training room.
“This partnership is a direct result of recognizing that our location in Hartford and our deep connections to the community make it possible for us to undertake this mutually beneficial relationship,” Joanne Berger-Sweeney, the President of Trinity College said. “The collective work in this newly formed partnership between HHC and Trinity College will result in better outcomes for the Trinity campus community and contribute to the quality experience that our scholar athletes have while competing on the field and in the classroom.”
