Inflammation is at the center of many chronic illnesses, including heart disease, stroke and autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis. To help you lower your risk of such issues, a dietitian with Hartford HealthCare’s Bone & Joint Institute is offering a pair of cooking classes.
Anti-Inflammatory Cooking Classes are set for Tuesday, Jan. 7, and Tuesday, Jan. 21, each from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Hartford HealthCare Bone & Joint Institute’s Center for Musculoskeletal Health Demonstration Kitchen on the first floor at 32 Seymour St., Hartford.
Chris Barrett, registered dietitian, will offer winter-inspired recipes to keep you cozy after the holidays. The classes are designed to help you prepare meals that are not only delicious but can help reduce inflammation.
During the class, all recipes will be prepared by an experienced chef and loaded with fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains that can help reduce inflammation if consistently consumed. Participants will work side by side with the chef to prepare these meals.
The class is $60 and parking is free with validation. To register, call 1.855.HHC.HERE (1.855.442.4373) or click here to register for the Jan 7 class and here for the Jan. 21 class.
