Hartford HealthCare Seeks Applicants for Grant-Funded Certified Nursing Assistant Program

Hartford HealthCare Senior Services is accepting applications for a grant-funded five-week program for those seeking a career as a certified nursing assistant (CNA).

This free program will consist of classroom education and laboratory skills training, which are both held at the Hospital of Central Connecticut’s Bradley Campus in Southington, as well as clinical patient care training, which is held in Newington or Southington. Tuition, books, scrubs and the Connecticut Certified Nurse’s Aide Competency Exam are included.

Applicants must have their high school diploma and a means of transportation. Acceptance will be contingent upon a background check, fingerprinting, interview, physical and reference check.

Grant funding is provided by Jefferson House in Newington, which offers short-term/outpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing and palliative care, where some clinical training may take place.

Space is limited and classes are ongoing throughout the year. To request an application packet and be considered for the next class, please email CNAtraining@hhchealth.org for more information.
