Hospital of Central Connecticut Gets High Marks in Maternity

U.S. News & World Report recognized The Hospital of Central Connecticut as one of three “high-performing” hospitals in the state for maternity care in 2024.

U.S. News evaluated 680 hospitals from across the nation that provide labor and delivery services and detailed data for analysis.

“This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence in patient care and is an example of the tremendous efforts from everyone at our hospital,” said Gary Havican, president, The Hospital of Central Connecticut. “Our team is committed to delivering exceptional maternity care and making a positive impact on the health and well-being of mothers and their newborns in our communities.”

The U.S. News Best Hospitals for Maternity Care methodology is based entirely on objective measures of quality, such as C-section rates in lower-risk pregnancies, newborn complication rates, exclusive breast milk feeding rates, early elective delivery rates, birthing-friendly practices and transparency on racial/ethnic disparities, among other measures.
