Dr. Kuzmik was wonderful! He answered all my questions. He was very thorough. We reviewed all my MRI disks together that I brought with me. I feel reassured as a new patient that I have the best neurosurgeon.

It has been 1 year since my surgery! Dr Kuzmik took much time to explain the procedure and show and explain the various images.

Dr Kuzmik was absolutely the BEST- he listened, cared, offered real options to help my pain, and reassured me he was there for me. All doctors should be like Dr Kuzmik

Dr. Kurzik explained my tests, diagnosis probability, further tests, etc. Slowly And thoroughly frequently pausing to check for my understanding. I left feeling fully informed and confident in the recommendation for next steps.

Dr Kuzmik is the best! I have had to have 3 different fusions. He is very thorough and takes the time to listen when you do have questions. Before you leave his office he goes over the plan and asks you if you understand everything. He will definitely be the neurologist I call if I need anything else done.

Best Doc

I experienced Dr. Kuzmik as a kind, caring and skillful surgeon. He took whatever time that was needed to explain my hemilaminotomy procedure and answer any questions. It took me a couple of years to find a doctor that did minimally invasive spine surgery and I am so glad I waited. It was the least painful surgery I have ever had with the excellent result of relieving leg pain. Kudos to Dr. Kuzmik and his surgical team!

I recently had surgery with Dr. Kuzmik. While he is kind and knowledgeable, his support team is TERRIBLE! This includes his PA Julie and his nurse Kathleen. Kathleen is deeply misinformed and misguided about the information about surgeries, what they entail, and what recovery looks like. She has been deeply unsupportive since day 1 - giving me completely incorrect information about the surgery before it happened, refusing to help with pain management (repeatedly saying this surgery requires no pain management beyond 2 weeks of tylenol) while I've just seen the surgeon at an 8 week follow up and he confirmed my symptoms of rib pain and thoracic pain at the incision site will persist for months. When I have reached out with questions she has refused to pass my messages to the doctor- leaving me to end up in the ER repeatedly where the doctors were similarly appalled at the nurse's lack of care and assistance. She has repeatedly insisted that rib pain has nothing to do with surgery, despite the surgeon showing me on the scans exactly why I am experiencing this pain. She is careless, inconsiderate, rude, deeply misinformed about the things she should know well and truly heartless. This takes away from thw kind demeanor and skill of the surgeon. She has repeatedly insisted I need to reach out to primary care or pain management to get questions answered and of course these doctors say the surgeon should be dealing with these matters. She does not pass my messages to the doctor and despite making a formal complaint about her heartless behavior she continues to behave in a deeply inappropriate manner. Julie the PA is just as bad. Having such an unsupportive team surrounding this major surgery has made things much more difficult than they should be. Reaching out with any sort of message fills me with dread and overwhelm because I already know she is going to refuse to provide any help. It is deeply saddening that these are the people the surgeon decides to surround himself with as they truly take away from his kindness and skill. If you need a neurosurgeon I would run far far away from this office. Kathleen should lose her job for how misinformed and careless she is. I truly hope no one else has to endure the disgusting, dehumanizing conduct I have been privy to. It is such a deep shame this behavior is allowed to continue. Run, don't walk, far far away from this practice. You will thank me in the long run.

I saw Dr. Kuzmik as a new patient. He was awesome. He listened. We discussed my future treatment plan. He was kind and extremely thorough. I would highly recommend him. We reviewed all my MRI's together.

I was very impressed with Dr. Kuzmik and his ability to make me feel comfortable and how in detail he went over my MRI of my spine and gave me his opinion and asked me if I had any suggestions for improvement of my lower back pain. I suggested that I would like to do some physical therapy and learn some exercises that might be beneficial. He said he would set up an appointment with the physical therapist. I waited over a month for a phone call before I spoke to someone to find out why no one called. After that impressive first visit with him, I was disappointed with the failure of the PT contacting me.

From the start I was so impressed with how Dr Kuzmik took the time to thoroughly explain my options for my fusion. I never once felt rushed, he answered any questions my wife and I had. Everyone in his office as well as the entire staff at Mid State Orthopedic Surgi Center were wonderful to go through the process from pre surgery appointment to post surgery care I never met so many nurses and doctors who gave such positive , friendly and supportive care. I would highly recommend Dr Kuzmik as well as Mid State Orthopedic Surgery CenterScott Summa / Southington CT
