This was my first appointment with Dr. Thurston and she was phenomenal. She makes you feel so comfortable and listens with intent. She was very thorough and actually took the time to listen and ask questions. The scheduling staff is also very empathetic and responsive.

Dr Thurston is warm, kind, has a great bedside manner and has phenomenal talent. I have been a patient of this practice for 26 years and Dr Thurston took over my care after my original surgeon took a step back from surgery. In 2024 I had a consultation for a jpouch excision, perm ileostomy, and BB pro cedure. She promised I would get my life back after 25 years of dealing with Crohn's and an ill performing jpouch. She is so bright, talented, meticulous, and so well known for the how well she creates stomas that people knew who did my surgery before looking in my chart. She has an equally exceptional staff of MAs, PAs, Drs, and WOCs that carried me through my recovery and still support me with my ostomy care if needed. She has been such a blessing to me over the last few years.

Dr. Thurston is absolutely amazing. Not only was she extremely personable and thorough in the consultation, but her entire team is attentive in person and on MyChart. She has to be one of the best surgeons out there because I had a partial sigmoid colectomy performed by her, and I was out of the hospital in 24 hours. Truly impressive work!!!

Dr. Thurston provided colorectal surgery for endometriosis along with my endo surgeon. She was knowledgeable, thoughtful, and attentive in my initial appointment and then popped in to see me before the surgery even though that wasn't expected since she would be assisting. She was skilled in the surgery as evidenced by how I feel now, and also by the post op report from my endo surgeon. Highly recommend!

Kristy graduated from the UCONN School of Medicine where she also completed her residency. She then completed a fellowship in Surgery at Northshore LIJ Great Neck. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
