I was pleased with my appointment with Dr. Patel. He went into great detail to explain my hypertrophic cardiomyopathy diagnosis. He took the time to pull up my fluoroscopy passes X-Rays. Dr. Patel showed me the thickness of my muscle being 18cm surrounding the heart while pointing out his findings and comparing my heart to a normal heart. I was surprised to find out that I had already had an aneurysm inside the heart which I was unaware this could happen. The aneurysm caused me to have scarring. Due to my diagnosis, I am not a candidate for the new medication that would have reduced the muscle thickness. The goods news is that I am going to be tested to see if I carry the generic gene that causes hypertrophic cardiomyopathy disease. If so, my daughter will need an ultrasound and ECG/EKG every three to five years up to Age 60. Dr Patel adjusted my Metoprolol from 25 mg to 50 mg plus added Eliquis 5mg to reduce the risk of getting blood clots, stroke or death. Dr. Nirav Patel I found very polite and professional as well making me comfortable with asking questions as well as talking. Also, he volunteered to call my daughter to explain his findings. I was diagnosed with this disease in year of 2024, but I never knew as much details of my condition. Thank you so much for your patience and provide me with a clear understanding of my diagnosis and pointing out what you see on the screen.
