My experience with Dr Groundrey and his staff gives me hope that the medical system may actually work

The doctor made it clear that there weren't any treatment options, which was frustrating, but he delivered this news matter-of-factly, which was appreciated. He did suggest the use of an ace bandage but did not demonstrate how to properly apply it, which, later, my physical therapist told me really mattered. She suggested instead something called Tubi-grip, or a compression stocking without the foot part. I still have to research and buy that.

I recently had hernia surgery at The Hospital of Central Connecticut – New Britain General Campus, and I cannot say enough about the exceptional care I received from the entire Hartford HealthCare team. My surgeon, Dr. Timothy Goundrey, was outstanding. From my first consultation through surgery and recovery, he was professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, and reassuring. He took the time to explain the procedure thoroughly, answered all of my questions, and made me feel completely confident that I was in the best possible hands. The surgery went smoothly, and I am incredibly grateful for his skill and dedication. I also want to sincerely thank Dr. Anil Bhardwaj, my anesthesiologist. Had hernia repair surgery on 1/13/26, within a couple/few days day by day I was feeling pretty good considering recent surgery. I agreed to the arthroscopic procedure recommended by Dr./Surgeon Timothy Goundrey MD. All possible scenarios were discussed in terms of postop issues that may or may not occur. Pleased to say I had very minimal discomfort mainly due to the very small incision areas NO BIG DEAL there. I was able to walk around the house immediately and within 4-5 days later I was doing 8,000 steps a day with no discomfort, Dr Goundrey is one of the best surgeons I have had the pleasure of dealing with. I have had 3 major surgeries since 2021 so I know a thing or 2 about postop issues. I highly recommend DR. Goundrey and his staff along with the surgical team at Hartford Health. A major key to a successful post op is heeding the advice of your Dr. I was told long ago especially after surgery you always feel better than you ACTUALLY ARE so don't rush recovery unnecessarily that's when the whole progression of success can come undone then you are back to square one. Thank you again DR. Goundrey!
