I had never met this doctor before and did not know what to expect. He was very personable, make me feel very comfortable and took time to show me on the computer exactly which muscle on my back was affected. He gave me clear directions on what to do next to help my condition and his summary on MyChart was easy to understand and concise.

Do not see this doctor if you have complex or chronic neurological pain. I saw Dr. Li after an emergency hospital stay where half my body went numb. Despite having both of my neck MRIs directly in front of him—which showed a clear 8-month progression to an active C5-C6 disc bulge and new bone spurs—he completely dismissed my structural imaging. He insisted my shooting arm and tricep pain was just 'periscapular weakness' and prescribed shoulder PT. He also tried to completely write off my 5-year history of severe L5-S1 nerve root irritation as just 'SI joint pain' (my subsequent lumbar MRI later proved a disc bulge physically abutting my nerve roots). He minimized my symptoms, ignored objective radiologist reports, and offered zero real help. Completely dismissive and a total waste of time.

Dr. Li has been an exceptional primary care physician, and my husband and I are truly saddened that he is leaving primary care. He is everything you could hope for in a doctor: attentive, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in his patients’ well-being. He always took the time to listen, explain, and make us feel heard and cared for, never rushed and always thorough. Dr. Li set an incredibly high standard, and our new physician will certainly have big shoes to fill. While we understand and respect his decision to move on to a new endeavor, his absence will be deeply felt. We wish him nothing but happiness, fulfillment, and great success in the next chapter of his career. He will be greatly missed, and we are very grateful for the care he provided.

If I could give zero stars I would. Made a last minute appt today due to feel jittery and high blood pressure. This is my first time meeting this doctor and he had absolutely no bed side manner at all. Very quick to brush it off as anxiety and dismissed my concerns completely. He never listened to my heart however documented that he heard normal sounds, never asked my cardiac history, never suggested an ekg, and basically stated I knew nothing about taking a blood pressure. Overall very rude and dismissive, he wasn't even in the room for 10 minutes and rushed out as if other people were waiting when the entire building was empty. He made me feel very unheard and uncomfortable. I work for hartford healthcare and would never treat a patient this way.

Great Doctor. He's willing to hear and answer my concerns and not just push right through an appointment. He's also available on the weekends which is great instead of rushing throughout the week day with my head cut off. All in all Dr. Li is a great Dr. He will get your concerns met.

Care is usually received at the appointed time. Staff and medical assistants are always pleasant, courteous and professional. I am particularly impressed and appreciative of the knowledge, care and genuine concern for patient wellbeing shown by Dr. Wei Li. Dr. Wei Li practices Non-surgical Sports Medicine at Hartford HealthCare Medical Group’s Physical Medicine and Non-operative Sports office on Farmington Avenue in Bristol. With comprehensive training in functional anatomy, he diagnoses and treats athletes and individuals of all ages to keep them healthy and injury-free.

Sports and physical activity have always been a bedrock in his life, centering him physically and mentally. His personal approach to sports medicine focuses on the prevention of musculoskeletal injuries and significant diseases with a core emphasis on strengthening and health. He is a sports-related concussion specialist, helping players return to their sport quickly and safely.

Dr. Li’s clinical areas of interest include sports ultrasound guided injection therapies as a nonsurgical treatment for patients suffering from musculoskeletal injuries. He also has a special interest in regenerative medicine through Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections, which uses the body’s own healing and growth factors to overcome chronic injuries.

Dr. Li is dual board certified in Sports and Family Medicine and is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.
