Free Pancreatic Care Webinar June 11
May 06, 2020
The fourth leading cause of cancer death in both men and women, pancreatic cancer, is an aggressive form of the disease that often exhibits few symptoms until it is advanced.
Approximately 57,000 Americans will be diagnosed with it this year, according to the American Cancer Society. About 47,000 will die from it.
To offer key information on this lethal disease, the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute will present a webinar, “Pancreatic Cancer: An Integrated Approach to Care,” on Thursday, June 11, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The session will be presented by pancreatic cancer specialists Dr. Lindsay Bliss, a board-certified general surgeon, and Dr. Jonathan Blair Williamson, who is board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine.
The providers will discuss basic details about pancreatic cancer, including:
- Who is affected.
- Signs and symptoms.
- Treatments and care.
The interactive session – which you can join from phones, computers or tablets – will conclude with a live question-and-answer session with Drs. Bliss and Williamson.
Hartford HealthCare has enlisted technology to provide webinars on a variety of important topics as the COVID-19 pandemic forced a temporary halt to in-person community education sessions.
The session is free but registration is required. Call 1.855.HHC.HERE (1.855.442.4373) or click here. After you register, you’ll receive an email with easy instructions on joining the webinar.
