Women’s Heart Wellness

The Women’s Heart Wellness Program represents Hartford HealthCare’s dedication to identifying, treating and, whenever possible, preventing cardiovascular disease in women.

Women's Heart Wellness Program

Heart disease, an equal-opportunity killer, is the leading cause of death among adult women in the United States. But heart disease in women is not like heart disease in men.

A healthy heart is the foundation of a healthy body. You can achieve both at the Women’s Heart Wellness Program, with services available at The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain and Hartford Hospital.

Our specialists have expertise in the symptoms only women experience and the treatments and lifestyle recommendations that make a difference in your life.

Being part of the Women’s Heart Wellness Program helped me tremendously after my heart attack in 2018. I felt angry, alone, confused and very scared. I was not comfortable speaking to my family about my fears. I felt no one would understand.

The program gives you a platform where you can speak openly without fear or feeling of being judged. Women tend to be very conservative when it comes to sharing their fears. I knew this was my time to speak for all women.
