Emergency Services Locations

Hartford HealthCare emergency locations are fully staffed with physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, as well as a staff of nurses and technicians specializing in emergency medicine, trauma, and critical care. 

All physicians are Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and/or Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

Backus Hospital includes a not-for-profit, 213-bed hospital in Norwich and numerous off-site locations, including several health centers and the Backus Outpatient Care Center. Two emergency rooms are available in Norwich and Plainfield.

Charlotte Hungerford Hospital

Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, located in Torrington, CT, is a 109-plus bed, acute care facility serving the regional health care needs of thirty towns in northwest Connecticut. Two emergency rooms are available in Torrington and Winsted.
Hartford Hospital ED

ER - St. Vincent's Medical Center
