The Kidney Stone Center’s innovative approach involves a multidisciplinary group of urologists, nephrologists, dietitians and interventional radiologists working together to address your kidney stones and help you feel better quickly.
Over the last 20 years, American diet and lifestyle changes have led to an increase in the number of people suffering with kidney stones. In the last decade alone, we’ve seen an 85-percent jump in the number of emergency room visits due to kidney stone pain.
The lifetime risk of kidney stones in the United States is approximately 19 percent for men and 9 percent for women. Anyone who has had at least one kidney stone episode has at least a 50-percent chance of having another, which can lead to pain, suffering and the inability to work.
This personalized approach earns high praise from our patients, who report satisfaction ratings in the 97th percentile nationally according to Press Ganey. Patient satisfaction surveys give us high scores for “communication with doctor,” “doctors listen to you,” and “overall rating of care".
In addition, our clinical outcomes for kidney stones rank above national benchmarks in such areas as complications and hospital readmission rates.
