Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's (AHRQ)

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's (AHRQ) mission is to produce evidence to make health care safer, higher quality, more accessible, equitable, and affordable, and to work within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and with other partners to make sure that the evidence is understood and used.

Consumer Medication Safety by ISMP

Mission: To advance patient safety worldwide by empowering you with the tools needed to prevent dangerous medication errors
Consumer Med Safety is brought to you by ISMP (Institute for Safe Medication Practices). This nonprofit organization is devoted entirely to preventing medication errors. ISMP is known and respected as the gold standard for medication safety information.

The mission of The Joint Commission is to continuously improve health care for the public, in collaboration with other stakeholders, by evaluating health care organizations and inspiring them to excel in providing safe and effective care of the highest quality and value. Its vision is that all people always experience the safest, highest quality, best-value health care across all settings.

Medicare.gov | Hospital Compare

Hospital Compare has information about the quality of care at over 4,000 Medicare-certified hospitals, including over 130 Veterans Administration (VA) medical centers, across the country. You can use Hospital Compare to find hospitals and compare the quality of their care.

The Leapfrog Group

Mission: To trigger giant leaps forward in the safety, quality and affordability of U.S. health care by using transparency to support informed health care decisions and promote high-value care.

Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is a consumer-friendly letter grade evaluating more than 2,600 hospitals on how well they keep patients safe from harm.

National Quality Forum

Mission: To be the trusted voice driving measurable health improvements

NQF measures and standards serve as a critically important foundation for initiatives to enhance healthcare value, make patient care safer, and achieve better outcomes.

Quality Check

The purpose of Quality Check is to list Joint Commission accreditation status. Organizations listed on Quality Check that are not accredited by The Joint Commission are for comparison purposes only and not to be considered an endorsement by The Joint Commission. Consumers should not rely on this information for choosing a provider without verifying its accuracy.
